Twinkling lights, endless to-do lists, sugar everywhere, and at least one person in every household is sniffling like it\u2019s their full-time job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While Christmas is supposed to be the \u201cmost wonderful time of the year,\u201d it can also be one of the most&nbsp;<em>draining<\/em>. Cold weather, late nights, extra sugar, and all that \u201choliday cheer\u201d can leave our bodies and immune systems waving little white flags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So before you deck the halls (and maybe your calendar), let\u2019s talk about how to actually&nbsp;<em>feel<\/em>&nbsp;good this season \u2014 not just look festive doing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step One: Don\u2019t Let the Weather Win<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cold air, dry heat, and unpredictable temperature swings can make even the healthiest among us feel like we\u2019ve been run over by Santa\u2019s sleigh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bundle up, not just because it looks cute. Keep your head, hands, and feet warm, since that\u2019s where you lose the most heat. And for the love of your skin, hydrate! (Yes, water still matters even when you\u2019re not sweating buckets.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A simple humidifier can also be a game-changer. Your sinuses and skin will thank you. And while we\u2019re at it, open a window once in a while. A quick blast of fresh air helps move out indoor germs and that suspicious mix of pine candle and cookie fumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step Two: Be Smarter Than Sugar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From peppermint mochas to sugar cookies \u201cyou only eat once a year,\u201d December has a sneaky way of turning our bloodstream into syrup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t have to skip the treats\u2026just pace yourself. Try balancing sweets with protein or healthy fats so your energy levels can stay steadier. Drink plenty of water to help your body process all that sugar, and don\u2019t forget your veggies &#8212; they still exist in December, promise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re going to indulge, do it joyfully and mindfully. One cookie enjoyed slowly is far better for your body and spirit than five eaten while wrapping gifts at midnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step Three: Rest Isn\u2019t Lazy \u2014 It\u2019s Medicine<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between work parties, shopping marathons, and family gatherings, sleep often gets traded for one more \u201cto-do.\u201d But your body can\u2019t fight off germs&nbsp;<em>or handle your in-laws<\/em>&nbsp;without proper rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aim for consistency: even if you stay up later than usual, try to keep your wake-up time close to normal. Power naps are perfectly acceptable this time of year. And if you need a \u201cquiet moment\u201d during the chaos, step outside, breathe deeply, and remind yourself: you\u2019re not a Christmas machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stress weakens the immune system faster than you can say \u201choliday burnout.\u201d Protect your peace like it\u2019s your last gift under the tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step Four: Move, Even a Little<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s tempting to hibernate all winter, but movement keeps your circulation, digestion, and immune function strong.
